Design Rationale were responsible for the design, coordination, and installation of the high-level glazed balustrade and handrail systems at London Blackfriars Bridge, delivered in collaboration with a trusted manufacturing partners back in 2012.

Our scope of works included:

  • High-level glazed balustrade

Handrail systems

The glazed balustrades were designed to enhance safety while maintaining openness and transparency, complementing the station’s modern architecture. The handrails were engineered for ergonomic comfort and visual harmony, integrating seamlessly with the balustrade system.

Installation was executed with meticulous planning and precision to ensure safety and accuracy. Bespoke lifting equipment was designed and engineered to lift and install the glass in a very tight working area.
