Delivering a Bespoke Curved Glass Screen at Heathrow Airport

We recently designed, supplied and installed a bespoke curved glass screen at Heathrow Airport, within one of the UK’s most highly regulated and security-critical environments.
Whilst curved glass screens are not uncommon, this project presented a unique challenge: the system was required to meet ASIAD compliance. As no off-the-shelf curved track systems had been tested to this standard, a bespoke solution was essential.
Our approach began with an ASIAD-certified straight track system, which was carefully rolled to the required radius by specialist UK suppliers. Precision was paramount, as even minor deviations could affect installation.

To ensure absolute accuracy, the rolled track was 3D scanned and the exact geometry issued to the glass manufacturer. This enabled the curved glass panels to be produced to the as-built radius, guaranteeing a precise fit on site.
The result was a fully compliant curved glass screen that achieved both the architectural vision and the stringent performance requirements of a complex airport environment - a testament to early collaboration, technical expertise and meticulous tolerance control.
